He got me super excited! Like I’m totally motivated again. And I feel challenged because he told me to not use the machines, which means I have to use the free weights, which scares the hell out of me, for a few reasons. I don’t wanna look like an idiot, and I don’t want to be doing the wrong motion. But we have set up a workout and diet plan, so now I am researching all of the moves that I can do for the different areas that I am gonna work on the different days. He is also challenging me to do morning cardio, which means I have to wake up early, and I am not a morning person at all. So this will be a big challenge, but I am so pumped. Anyways just thought I’d update you and share my enthusiasm!
So I met with a personal trainer today, and we worked out a diet plan and a workout routine, but he told me to get away from the machines, so now I need to learn how to use free weights, I mean I know how to use them, but I need to learn moves to work certain areas of the body. So I was wondering if anyone knew of a website or somewhere I could look that would show me a bunch of different moves for different areas of the body?
My family buys cases of bottled water. I feel bad that I drink so many of them… Maybe I should try to fill some back up with tap water and drink those… Ha.
If my legs are not sore tomorrow I’m gonna be pissed. I worked my legs so hard today, I could feel them shaking by the time I was done. So if I’m not sore tomorrow then something is up.
Also while I was on my way home my gym called me to let me know that I didn’t win the 3 months of free personal training that I entered to win, but they did give me 2 free sessions for entering. My first session is on Friday. I’m looking forward to it, mostly to ask questions, haha.
Let me tell you how important this actually is. This is my second time around in my weight loss journey. My first time I got my diet down pretty well, ate healthy for the most part, and worked out a little bit. I lost 23 pounds in 4 months. Then life happened and I screwed up and gained it all back. So I’ve been at it for a little over a month now. I have been working out regularly, pushing myself super hard. But my diet isn’t as good as it should be. I eat a healthy breakfast, don’t have snacks, usually a bad lunch, and a decent dinner. I have gained weight. You need to eat properly to fuel your body for your workouts and to be able to actually shed the pounds. I’m not sure why the diet is so hard for me to stick to now, but I am working on it because I don’t want my workouts to mean nothing.
Since I am going to the gym I am trying to figure out a routine. I do my cardio then hit the weight machines. I chose which part of my body I want to work and then 3 or 4 machines that work that area, I do 3 sets of 10 on each machine. So my question is should I rotate the machines or do all 3 sets on one machine before moving on to the next? Also would you do anything different?
Today I worked my legs, and holy crap did I kill them, I am gonna hate tomorrow. I did a 6 mile bike ride with medium resistence, then worked my quads, hammys and calves, and topped it off with leg presses. I keep stretching in hopes that I won’t be too sore tomorrow. haha. Anyways, tomorrow I think I’ll do day two of c25k. Then I’ll do arms I think. :)
